-coughs- Mmk. So, yeah. I wasn't sure where to put this one, but I think it works best here. -nod- This is a Harry Potter Fanfiction.... Only it takes place about twenty years after the Golden Trio leave Hogwarts. -nods- And well, the main characters are the children of several of the Harry Potter Characters.
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the original Harry Potter characters, places, or events. I only own the kids, and the plot/storyline. Rating: PG-13. There will be some violence, and a bit of romance.

Part One:
“Evan! Evangeline Anastasia Flint, if you don’t get down here this instant!” “Don’t threaten the girl, Katie. You know you’ll never punish her.” “Just because you are lax with our daughter, Marcus, doesn’t mean I am as well.” Marcus Flint shook his head as he looked at his wife of eighteen years, Katie Flint, formerly Bell, and smiled a bit. It had been the shock of the decade when Marcus and Katie wed, and everyone said that the marriage wouldn’t last. But it had, and their daughter, who was soon to turn eighteen, was going to be starting her seventh year at Hogwarts in September. But now, they had more pressing matters. Marcus’ oldest friend, Terrence Higgs and his wife, Padma Patil-Higgs, were having an End of the Summer Ball, and the Flint family was going to be late. But Marcus didn’t really care, as he knew Terrence wouldn’t mind if they were late. However, Katie hated being late to anything. As if she knew that she had reached her mother’s limit, seventeen-going-on-eighteen year old Evangeline Flint appeared at the top of the stairs. Evangeline was a beautiful combination of her parents. She had Marcus’ dark coloring, and darker hair, Katie’s deep brown eyes, and a willowy build that neither Marcus nor Katie knew where it came from. Despite the willowy frame, Evangeline had a toned body, from years of playing and training for Quidditch. Like both of her parents, Evangeline was on her House Quidditch Team as a Chaser. However, she hadn’t made Captain for her final year at Hogwarts, unlike her father, who had bee Captain of the Slytherin Team in his day. But, Evangeline was the first girl to ever make the Slytherin Quidditch Team, and it was because she was a skillful player. “Evan, what took you so long?” Marcus asked, noting the look on his daughter’s face that clearly said she’d rather be doing anything but going to the ball. “Getting ready.” Evangeline replied simply, but the cool look in her brown eyes held a different story. “This is about Jeremy getting the Captain position, isn’t it? Evangeline, you can’t let a little thing like that ruin your and Jeremy’s friendship.” Katie scolded her daughter lightly. Evangeline rolled her eyes a bit, but she knew that her mother was right. She was upset that Terrence and Padma’s oldest son, Jeremy, who was only a couple months older than herself, had gotten the Captain position and she hadn’t. Normally, the two Chasers got along remarkably well, but ever since Evangeline found out that Jeremy was the new Captain, she had been cool towards him. “Evan, put that aside for tonight. You know that Blaise wouldn’t have just chosen Jeremy because he was a boy. But you also know that the team will listen to him better than they would have listened to you.” Marcus said, bringing up the Head of Slytherin House and one of Evangeline’s godparents, Blaise Zambini. “Fine,” Evangeline rolled her eyes, and ran a tanned hand over the white satin of her dress, and followed her parents into the living room of the mansion. Because of the fact that she was seventeen, and licensed, the entire family could Apparate to the Higgs Manor. They were soon walking into the ballroom, and Terrence was striding towards them, Padma at his side. After shaking hands with Marcus, and giving Katie a kiss on the cheek, Terrence turned his attention to Evangeline. “You know, Evan, you get more beautiful every time I see you.” Terrence smiled, kissing his goddaughter’s cheek. “Jeremy requested that when you arrive, you find him. He wants to talk to you pretty badly. I’m sure you can find him by the refreshment table.” After thanking her godfather and excusing herself, Evangeline began to wander the room, glancing at the others there. Here and there she saw a familiar face, but she didn’t pause to talk to anyone. She had, though, made up her mind to make Jeremy find her if he wanted to talk to her so desperately. As she walked along the edge of the room, she spotted Katharine Weasley, the daughter of Fred Weasley and Angelina Weasley(formerly Johnson). Smiling a bit, she started towards her best friend, but was abruptly stopped by a strong hand on her arm that jerked her back. Gasping partly from the shock, partly from the pain, Evangeline whipped herself around to see who had grabbed her. Her dark eyes met a pair that were almost jet black. Glaring, Evangeline pulled her arm out of the grasp of Jeremy Higgs. “You have a lot of nerve, Higgs.” Evangeline’s voice was a hiss as she glared up at him, her arms crossing over her chest. “I have a lot of nerve? What about you? Evangeline, you’ve been flat out ignoring me all summer. That’s not very polite.” Jeremy crossed his own arms, looking down at her. “Well, if I remember our last conversation correctly, ‘polite’ isn’t a term used to describe Flints.” Evangeline’s tone was bitter and biting as her hands moved to rest on her curvy hips. “Can’t we put that aside for ten minutes? I sent word that I wanted to talk to you.” Jeremy said, exasperated. “So talk.” Evangeline looked at him, waiting almost patiently. “Not here.” Jeremy grabbed her arm again, and pulled her into a room off of the ballroom. Neither teenager noticed both Marcus and Terrence watching them curiously. Marcus and Terrence knew Evangeline’s temper, which came from the Flint blood in her, and Jeremy’s stubbornness, which came from the Higgs blood. In the room, Evangeline turned on Jeremy, her eyes like brown fire. She jerked her arm from his grasp once again, and slapped him hard across his face. “What was that for?” Jeremy demanded, his hand gingerly touching the tender spot on his cheek. He had been lucky that she hadn’t punched him; he knew how strong she was. “What do you mean ‘what was that for’? You know perfectly well what that was for, Jeremy Aurelius Higgs! Who said I wanted to leave the ballroom?” Evangeline demanded, raising her hand again. This time, Jeremy was ready for her, and easily caught her hand in his. Evangeline struggled with him for a moment, but finally gave up, and crossed her arms over her chest again, walking towards the window. She looked outside, leaning against the frame. After a few silent moments, Evangeline felt someone standing behind her, and seconds later, felt two warm hands on her shoulders. “You are so hardhead, Evie.” Jeremy said softly, using the pet name he had for her. “And you aren’t?” Evangeline challenged softly, glancing over her shoulder, up at him. They stood in silence for a moment, just watching out the window as the sun set in the west. Finally, Evangeline turned, and looked up at Jeremy. “What did you want to talk about, Jeremy?” She asked quietly, her eyes full of curiosity. “We can discuss this later. I’m sure everyone has noticed our absence from my parents’ ball, so we’d best head back out there.” Jeremy said simply. Without waiting for a response, Jeremy tucked Evangeline’s hand into the crook of his arm, and led her out of the room, and back into the ballroom, where Marcus and Terrence had disappeared to Terrence’s office to do some private talking.
